WOYWW #160 -desk mess and some new cards!

Can't believe I am getting my post in so early today! Woohoo for me! I have to celebrate these little victories on days the thermometer goes past 110f! Its been around 118f in my black NO AC car every day this week, right at the time I have to take my son to the gym, which is 2ish or now...so stinking hot! But otherwise I have been crafting, playing with my new treasures and things...and thank you Julia for hostessing this linky party!
Right side of desk, then left side...woo did I make a  mess this week! :) And it appears I have a ton of stamp sets out...I can never make up my mind so I get several out and then rifle through them...
Sorry this next picture is a little blurry, but below are some close-ups in focus...
This is one of my new cards, for that main front paper there I used the front of Pink Paislee's London Market 6x6 pad, that has the detail of all the inside papers. Re-cycle!
This is one of the 6x6 sheets from a package by My Minds Eye, folded in half, rounded the corners and used the pre-cut hole to thread a hand dyed ribbon and tie it in a bow! So its not a big card but will work great considering the sentiment...
The sentiment that I messed up! So I fixed like I once saw another crafter, in a magazine I think, do by cutting out a circle from similar paper, lining it up and re-stamping the banner stamp then re-stamping the Just me part and then inked the edges of that circle, put on a pop dot or two and placed it over my mess up! All better, right? :) Then I had to add a little glitter...
See how I used the pre-cut hole for my ribbon/bow? :)

 Details from first card....
Then an anniversary card I made...
Used the directions from, um, I'll have to get back to you, but it wasn't me! :) I know it was someone really dear and very talented. Think it was someone I have found through WOYWW, though...so if it's you will you please remind me in the comment section? :)
That's all for now...Thanks for stopping by and leaving your number and comments! You're dears, you know...
:)

Update: I received a fabulous ATC from Okie Nurse late yesterday so I'm adding it onto this post, since I have to brag on her for being so talented and thoughtful! She sent this awesome bit of coolness!
I love that the occasion is right on the front so whenever I get around to finding out and doing what you're supposed to do with traded ATC's...um, lost my train of thought. Or my destination. Hard to say! :)
And look at this lovely crisply clean and simple but detailed re-usable card she sent too! The sentiment is so perfect...now I just have to find out where she got it and go get one for myself so I can make some cards with these words, they are so so perfect for many of the cards I want to send...and I've included 2 bonus shots of my craft room, from very late yesterday, so still Wednesday desk shots...

See how I haven't even managed to get all the stamp set packs put away before I've started something new! Oh, maybe you can't see them...they are buried under the prisma watercolor pencil set! :)
Shame on me, right? Heeheeehe
Have a lovely crafting week y'all!

  3. What a lot of loveliness! Those cards are brilliant. You're obviously a talented lady ;D
I lived in the Middle East for quite a few years so I know what 'hot temperatures' are like to live with. Thankfully we had AC everywhere...home, car, schools and shops otherwise when the temp reached over 50+ (celcius) we'd have melted!
I thought I'd start visiting from the back of the WOYWW list this week.
    Thanks for sharing...Happy WOYWW ~ Neesie #39

    1. Now I have to go see what that temp translates to...122f! That's about what my car "cools" down to when we are driving around town. It's only 110-113 or so outside but my car is black and seems to hold the heat pretty good so it stays about 118-120-ish while we drive around. It's just miserable! But we charged the AC yesterday and we'll see in the next few days if it going to hold. Here's hoping and praying it does! :)
Thanks for thinking my cards are brilliant. You have a dear heart! :)
And I hope you also have a great week!

    1. Thanks! I love bicycle stamps, too, but I haven't even used mine yet because I'm like, what saying goes with a bicycle?!? Giddy up? Maybe I'm over-thinking it...? :)

  5. SO much going on! What a great posting! How can you stand that heat, seriously? If I got in a car that hot, I'd be a baked potato in two minutes! Hope it cools off soon! Darnell #55

    1. The heat is pretty ridiculous...I'm not standing it very well, in fact I got a little too hot the afternoon we went out, after the original post, and sure enough it was 120-ish in my car! 30 minutes (minimum time to get to the gym and back) in that kind of heat made me a little sickly and dehydrated. So I just had ice cream for my meals the rest of the day! :)

  6. What a lovely collection of craftiness, you are so tallented and well gifted. Your color combinations and co-ordinating it all is perfect. I love how you have just used a hint of a pattern on the paper in each cut out to accentuate the papers, very clever.

    1. You would know he(T.H.) is a boy even if he had a different name because of the mess *required* to be made whilst playing with his crafting tools and supplies, huh?! It's really quite fun and I'm finding myself getting more into it daily. I don't know how much my skill is growing but the mess certainly is! lol :)

  8. Awesome messy desk...I think they are so much more creative. Did you feel me wave hello as I flew past heading to Kansas on Sunday? I did! Glad you like the ATC and card. I bought the stamp from Stampin Up! If you don't have a demo you can get it by mail from my online site. I love their stamps! Tell your son that he can see pics on my husbands business site...www.cdoswell.com

    1. Beavis and Butthead are just so very juvenile that you can turn your brain right off while watching them! Some days my brain just needs a break...

  10. Blimey, but you can sure make a heap of stuff when you want to!! Your desk is very impressive in its untidiness...but what great cards as a result! I particularly like the one where you've used the paper pad front cover - it looks like a paper patchwork and without the hassle. Very effective and the little key adds a nice touch!

    1. Well, I can certainly make a heap! lol (Thank you, in other words.)
I was really happy with the paper patchwork appearing one, too. I just love that paper and couldn't bear to think of throwing the cover piece in the trash, ya know? What a waste! I think I first saw or got the idea in Cardmaker's May or June issue, where they had lots of ideas for re-cycling scraps and using up every bit of your supplies. So it's not an original idea of mine but I snagged it and love it! :)
      Thanks for stopping by LLJ!

  11. Hi Deeyll,
First off, thank you for visiting my blog!!!! You are VERY sweet and you made my day! I love everything you shared with us. Everything is coming up Eiffel Tower, isn't it. Yesterday I went on a shop-about and bought some bling that I normally wouldn't buy. I can't wait to see what happens with all of it. Stay turned, I'm hoping to share some cards next week.
