Coolest sweet sewing site!

If you love fancy dresses and wish you could make your own but don't know where to find the pattern here is a site for you! Or you can just look around and dream about how awesome it would be if we all still got to wear gorgeous dresses and pantaloons everyday! I'm going to try to make some pantaloon styled shorty pants for my niece to model this summer. I mean, as long as it has plenty of ruffles you can't mess it up, right? lol

Stuff I am thinking of listing on Etsy...

So here's some stuff I made and I would dearly love any feedback ya'll would like to leave! It's not outrageously expensive to list on Etsy or anything but I still hate to waste the money for things that aren't going to sell so if anyone has any tips, feedback or suggestions for improvement I really would love to hear 'em. Thanks in advance!
This is a headband, so frilly with a line of pink pearls sewn on then tied on for extra fussy-ness...all securely attached to a black headband.

Above is the view from the side, then top and then side again?

This is a frilly bit of feminine charm that you can add to your hair or dress or shirt or where ever you want because I put it on this cool clip that can attach it to whatever. And it has some pink pearls and a rose center.

More frilly girly-ness and just as easily set in your hair as it is on your dress or any plain shirt you want to girlify since it is securely attached to this cool clip thingy.
 Another view, same fussy...
This is a yo-yo I personally hand sewed and gathered. I made it into a necklace for this pic by adding a bottle cap and some pretty ribbon. I love ribbon for necklaces because its versatile, pretty, comfortable and very affordable!
Here is where I was thinking about offering yo-yo's as magnets with rhinestone embellished bottle cap middles...or...
Tie a bow on some ribbon and wa-la! Instant necklace...

Vintage styled image of a little girl with a little red and white starry ball. I used the sage ribbon in this photo but later are some images with a pink ribbon, but you could use just about any color you wanted...
This charm is about a 1"x 2" rectangle...

This is the reverse side of the little girl necklace so you get 2 necklaces or charms in one!

This is approximately 1"x1" square charm, made into a necklace with some sage ribbon. Its some sort of pretty purply flower with a little butterfly in the top left corner...can you see it? ;)

This is the reverse side of the purple flower charmed necklace from above and tied with a pink ribbon.

Tied the pink on the little girl charm to see how it would look...I lerve pink sooooo much!!! : )
Reverse of little girl with pink ribbon, just cause...

So what do ya'll think? Lemme know!

The Fatherless Generation

Just finished watching How I Met Your Mother...I can identify with Barney so strongly in this last episode. My dad also left our family only to take up with another family and be the kind of dad I needed, but for them and not us. Thankfully God has given me the grace to forgive him. But the whole episode made me think about the issue of fatherless children and how epidemic the absence of fathers in families is. How many young boys don't know how to use a screwdriver because they have no dad to show them how to? How many young girls have no idea how a lady should be treated because they have no dad to show them? And how many men do not know how to treat a woman like a lady? Those are rhetorical questions of course but, if you are a dad and you are reading this, then please understand you have something to offer your child that no one else can. The love and teaching and encouragement of a Dad. You are invaluable and irreplaceable and somewhere there is at least one set of eyes looking to you for approval and love and an example to follow. Walk tall dads, so that your children may not fall under the curses of a fatherless generation. And if you grew up without a Godly dad it's never too late to let God fill in whatever knowledge gaps you might have.

"Spring Cleaning" also throws me off...

Soon to come: pictures of my newly reorganized pantries and kitchen cabinets...including before, during(the scariest pics of all!) and after. But right now I am on day 3 of the big re-do and I am exhausted! So pics of the after will probably take me about a week, since I'm still not even finished putting everything in its new home and labeling it all up fancy shmancy like...hope ya'll come back and check 'em out!

Springing forward throws me off!

How about you? My son was very upset last night when all his clocks said 8 and I told him it was bedtime because time had moved ahead one hour. He claimed it still only felt like 8 to him so he wasn't 9 o'clock tired and shouldn't have to go to bed early! It just didn't seem fair to him that someone somewhere decided this time changing thing was a good idea and he has to go along with it...and I know the feeling.

Household ownership joys...and change.

I am so incredibly thankful for my home that it just really upsets me when anything goes wrong with it, if that makes any sense to anyone at all! Its because I love it just like it is and I don't want it to change...sometimes I get like that, though. Sometimes change is hard but most of the time I welcome it with arms wide open! How about you all...any thoughts on change? Why are some changes so easy, they may even go unnoticed they are so not the big deal...while other changes are so hard to come to grips with that you think you will never feel normal again?
