WOYWW #172

I'm trying very hard not to be last this week! :) Last at what? Well, thanks to Super Julia over at the Stamping Ground we get to show off our workspaces, also known as being outed every week before the world! But all in the name of craftacular fun, of course...so without further ado here are my shots for this Wednesday:
The paper workspace, in all its, um, glory, shall we say? :) Then, below, is a card I made...
It didn't photo very well, and I was in a hurry, but it was made with Prima papers that are just gorgeous, trust me. You can trust me, right? ;)
Got a little inky...playing with some of my distress inks and a few embossing folders...

And, because my TH inks are starting to pile up so I don't know which one is where, I have labeled them by color. I wouldn't say I'm in love with this but it'll work, huh? And that's what matters here...
Last, but certainly not least, is my final ATC card to arrive! And, being such a sweetheart, this dear lady sent a few goodies along to boot! The ribbon is darling and has the popular, 'Keep Calm and Craft On' saying on it, so I imagine my next crafting party invites will be smashingly embellished with it! A few fab 3-d heart embellies and a sheet of classy gold stickers that I'm thinking will be go-to's for some anniversary cards, plus 2 packs of Magic Motifs, which I don't think we have at all here in the States. I'm intrigued to see how they work and one has some mushrooms in it that I can hardly wait to see how they look with my gnome!
So a big thank you goes to Kay at Crafty Spider, for her generosity, plus compliments on the beautiful and colorful ATC she created for me. :)
And that wraps it up for me this Wednesday evening. Take care all you lovely people's! :)

  5. Hi Deeyll! Wow you shared lots today. Thanks. I love the card and the tags are so vibrant. Pretty. I like the idea of putting the colors on the side of the inks. I might have to do that. Because in one glance you can see which color you want to use. Thanks for sharing. Are those paper you cut out and stamped or sticker?

    1. Hi Belinda! I labeled the ink pads by cutting out strips of sticker paper. I don't know where you get it because I had it from ages ago, but its a sheet of paper, almost feels like photo paper, that you run through your printer and then you can cut out the stickers, peel the back off and wahlah! Homemade stickers. So I just cut some strips up, inked them in the pad color then peeled off the back and applied them to the edge. I do like how I can see the color now, its just that with distress inks the color seems to change based on the paper you use or the time of day! I've yet to figure distress inks out, in other words. :)

    1. Thanks for thinking I deserve surprises Eliza! I wish you could come over and have a peek through my craft supplies and then make me something fabulous! haha :) Do you have any Prima papers or have you seen their website? Ooh, I have the hardest time limiting myself there! They make the most gorgeous papers and embellishments...I would be in so much trouble if they ever ran them on sale at my local Hobby store! Sale=stock up time, to me! lol
Take care, you fabulous crafter you. :)

    1. My workspace is absolutely cozy, in fact I usually refer to it as my crafting cave. :) I don't have nearly the abundant natural lighting you seem to have and I do really love your view. It makes me think of some exotic foreign country...which it now occurs to me may be just where you live since I don't know where you live! Is it foreign and exotic by any chance? :)

  15. I could get lost in just poking around your desk, checking everything out. I'm not sure how to label the Tim inks myself. I put the name of the ink on the side but that doesn't always tell me what I want to know. I like the idea of a color swatch but I you say you have to use good paper as it doesn't always convey well. Ah... but that is such a small piece of my mess that it is very low priority. My big organization priority now is 8.5x11 paper-my goal is to only have what will fit in the paper holders I have now and I mean real paper holders not the random boxes, bins, and piles I have along with the holders. I have more paper to sell than I can carry.

Anyway..... way off subject which is your desk! Love the papers you have out. The card is stunning--that sparkling key rocks! The tags are so much fun!

    1. I'm thinking the more I use my TH inks the more I will like seeing their colors on the sides and once I get a better idea how they change on different papers and with different techniques and water and such then I'll realize the color label is just one color I can get from that pad, more like a jumping off point.
I don't have too terribly much of the 8.5 11 paper, at least not nearly as much as 12x12! I mostly use those plastic 3 drawer things you can find at Wal-mart and such. The drawers are perfect sized and I haven't even bothered to label them because as soon as I put my 8.5x11 paper in them it worked out so perfectly that they've been in them for years now. Of course, I don't stack them because that plastic isn't that heavy duty but they sit nicely on shelves, those ones that hold up my desktop, for instance. And I do have that one on my desktop holding that black organizer. It seems to be holding up okay. But you already have something to organize your papers, right? You've just out-shopped it? lol Like I did with my stamp storage solution! :)I find culling paper to be a brutal thankless task. I do not envy your chore there!
Thanks for admiring my card, I wish I could have taken better pictures. I really liked it and the tags were fun to make...I don't know what to do with them now, but they were fun to make! lol

    2. Indeed! I have out-shopped my paper storage. I have some nice paper holders, one in the hall closet and one near the computer desk. Those two "end tables" by the couch are 2-drawered cabinets and the bottom drawer is full of paper. I have several plastic bins of paper too. Right now I want to downsize the paper on the floor in random piles and then the bins so only the cabinet and the paper holders are full. You are right-thankless job.

  16. I've labelled my TH inkpads with a colour sticker too, I think it is just right. BJ#19

    1. I guess if you consider that the color of the ink will be slightly different on every different surface and you can use water and blending ink to change it drastically, then at least our labels give us a jumping off point, huh? So in that light I'm liking them better! :)
