WOYWW #218

Today's post is thanks to Julia at Stamping Ground for hostessing this fabulous blog hop and my sister. My sister?! Hey, I have a quick question for you...what do you get when your sister has the brilliant idea to switch your craft room with your bedroom, since your bedroom is bigger and your craft room is, um, overflowing? You get this:
An almost emptied craft room freshly painted "White Chocolate"...that's not so bad you say? Try this then:
And another angle...
That is almost all my craft stuff exploded into my former bedroom...but the mess doesn't stop there!
This is from the doorway into my bathroom...and that was with the headboard out of there! My headboard is an antique fireplace surround thingy...cannot remember at the moment what those are called but it took up the space in the left of this picture making getting into the bathroom a squeeze. :) There's more mess though...
Part of my living room, there is a couch under there somewhere! And what else was(and STILL is) in the living room?
That's right! My bed, sans headboard, and completely disheveled as the dog and boy discovered it's quite the comfy sitting and napping spot. Well, as if that wasn't traumatizing enough, I hated all the crafty stuff in my former bedroom because there wasn't enough wall space(two doors, large long closet, 3 windows-one with an AC unit in it) for everything to go back up on shelves and be organized like I like it. So guess what we did? Yep. Switched it back! But I did take the opportunity to rearrange things...
I've sprung a window in the middle of my desk now! :) This is the view when I walk into the papercrafting space. The next picture is once I am fully in and looking to the left of where I sit to craft now.
And here is a wider shot of the right side of the desk...
Here is a shot from the left side looking rightwards...and the card I made last night, still unfinished. :)
I started making the card because I figured I would play around and get things where I want them as I craft and the best way to do that is, well, to make something! :) Well, I hope you enjoyed the photos of before, after and especially during, and I also hope you never have this experience yourself! It's exhausting! :)

  1. OMG are you stark raving mad woman, you trashed the place, seriously you made a mess not in one room but the whole house. The worse thing was and I really do have to say this, coz I can, you know I care right, you should never leave the toilet seat up, it just makes things so much worse, seriously what were you thinking. Can you go and put that lid down now I will wait...........

Thank you, so now the place looks so much better, hey it even looks like you can move around and craft with more function.

I have to say I had the biggest smile on my face when I started reading, but I held it there and read the whole lot before a serious photo LOOK.

  2. Oh my good and giddy aunt..I do not want to be associated with your sister for a while... please!! And then, when I'm strong enough, introduce me to her persuasive powers. I think! Oh trauma. Bright side though - a clear out and look at your new old room now. It looks even fabbier than it did for sure, and you've done some weeding. That's a good thing. I recommend a short stsya at your sister's now - there must be something you can suggest in return?!!!

  3. Oh my, that's exactly the sort of thing we do here, including the moving then moving it all back again, glad we're not the only mad ones!

  4. Oh look at your space now.. They say when you do these clean ups the best thing to do is start with a clean slate and then only move what you want back in. Your room looks wonderful and I am sure you will have many many hours of fun in your new wonderful space.

  5. LOL, always seems a good idea at the time though? My hubby and I swapped rooms earlier in the year, now there is a ton of junk in the spare room upstairs, and it took about 3 days to sort out, and yes was exhausting.
Yours all looks good now though, so sure it was worth it.

  6. I guess this is what happens when you move your craft room. You REALLY have A LOT of stuff. My 6yr saw the pictures and he said "they have a toilet in the craft room"...LOL....I'm still laughing. Have fun moving and good luck. Thanks for stopping by..Happy crafting #1

  8. Just wanted to let you know you are not alone. I have moved from studio from the small bedroom to the big bedroom, back again, then to the dining room, them back to the big bedroom. It now is back in the small bedroom and this was all done in less than six months. Never again. Sadly I never thought to take pics of all the insanity. I can't even remember how many times I got trapped moving furniture.

  9. Lol at your moving round! You need to find a similar project at your sisters, in 'thanks' for all her help, rofl! Seriously, though, all the moving stuff helps to find loads of forgotyten tyreasures, at least it did when I did mine. I also found a lot of (well-deserved) forgotten crap that I thought ' what was I thinking about when I bought this?' Hope the new layout works well for you, its all 'tweaking' now, isn't it? Have a great week, Hugs Shaz #48 xx

  10. And this is why we have the expression "All's well that ends well!" Lordie, Deeyll, what upheaval, what chaos, what hive-inducing nightmare that was! Bless her heart, sis meant well, but I can see where you had to change it back because of the lack of wall space. It looks brilliant now!! Your mojo juice is prolly flowing like karazy with zen restored! Happy WOYWW and thanks for visiting me VERY early this week, LOL! Darnell #12

  12. OMG! I got a couple emails telling me I needed to come look at your post and was asked if we Okies were having problems with water on the brain all the rain we have gotten. Must be the fact that both of us have piles, and piles, and piles, and piles....of crap all over our house... I am off to the grocery store now. Will tackle the house when I get home...start on it anyway! Have a great week and thanks for stopping by my desk and commenting. Vickie #36

  15. Too funny, I have definitely been there with a similar idea to your sisters. Moved everything out and about the rest of the house, only to move it all back again....I guess the plus size of the exercise is you now have more of an idea of what you own stash wise and have a newly rearranged crafting space. Have a great week and Happy WOYWW! Danie #14

  16. Good grief, what an idea your sister had.... did she hang around to help or have the idea and run away? What a challenge.... hope your newly organised craft space works for you and you have fun.... eventually, after recovering from the exhaustion.... Helen 6

  19. Oh my word! What a few days you have had. It looked like the day last year when we moved house. I had labelled the boxes - oh, ever so carefully - only to discover, when the removal men had gone, that the kitchen had completely submerged under the pile of things in there. Only way to deal was to go to the chip shop for dinner, then next morning move it all out and start again!! Got there in the end. Glad you have too. Hope you are now crafting away in your new, old, touched up, space. It's great!

  23. Wait?! Did I hear that right? You pulled it all out along with another room, changed them around and then.... put it all back?! Oh my. That's a lot of work, really. I'm sure it was worth it though because if you didn't do it, you would always be wondering how it would be. I have to go lie down now because just reading all that made me tired.
