The Crimson Wing
I am highly recommending this Disney Nature film, available on Netflix and other places I'm sure, but with some warnings...you will cry! :) I watched it because I am already head-over-heels in love with the soundtrack and wanted to see what went along with it, or what had inspired it...maybe? Here is a link to a preview of the music. So, I watched it late last night, okay it was very very early this morning, and anyways maybe I was tired or just feeling emotional but I thought the movie was incredibly moving, inspirational and extraordinarily beautiful...the cinematography is just stunning! Since its about nature it, of course, has its parts where I just refused to watch, but the rest of it was so inspiring and made me think of a whole lot more than birds, oh yeah I didn't mention that...its about flamingo's, which sounds boring but its absolutely riveting. Or I'm easily entertained. Which we all know is true, but still! It was really beautiful and I hope if you get a chance to watch it you will. And watch it all the way through, even if you have to cover your eyes at points, like I did. ;)

So busy...
So my dear sis is getting married July 3rd and I have been really blessed to have the time to be able to help her out with lots of the details...and so I have decided that, instead of the ginormous wedding I always thought I wanted if I ever got married, I would like to elope! Actually it's not that bad, but you might be surprised how many little details there are to such an event...and that one day, important as it is, is really just the start of something so much bigger and so much more important; a marriage. When a man and woman leave their parents and cleave unto one another. Actually the Bible says the man is to leave his parents and cleave unto his wife and they shall be one flesh. What does cleave mean anyways? It's a primitive root; properly to impinge, that is, cling or adhere; figuratively to catch by pursuit: - abide, fast, cleave (fast together), follow close (hard, after), be joined (together), keep (fast), overtake, pursue hard, stick to, take. Sounds...manly. Sounds like what most wives want in a husband. Sounds like the man has quite a responsibility to go after his woman and keep her, pursue her...which makes the advice to continue dating each other, even after you marry, even more sound since it is so obviously Biblical...but I'm not saying anything you guys don't know, now am I? ;) Hope all you who are already married are pursuing one another with the love God desires you to share with one another...and for all you singles: have a good weekend, too! :) And may we all consider that our Husband pursues us, night and day, and so let us yield to Him in everything and receive His love with joy...

The Fatherless Generation
Just finished watching How I Met Your Mother...I can identify with Barney so strongly in this last episode. My dad also left our family only to take up with another family and be the kind of dad I needed, but for them and not us. Thankfully God has given me the grace to forgive him. But the whole episode made me think about the issue of fatherless children and how epidemic the absence of fathers in families is. How many young boys don't know how to use a screwdriver because they have no dad to show them how to? How many young girls have no idea how a lady should be treated because they have no dad to show them? And how many men do not know how to treat a woman like a lady? Those are rhetorical questions of course but, if you are a dad and you are reading this, then please understand you have something to offer your child that no one else can. The love and teaching and encouragement of a Dad. You are invaluable and irreplaceable and somewhere there is at least one set of eyes looking to you for approval and love and an example to follow. Walk tall dads, so that your children may not fall under the curses of a fatherless generation. And if you grew up without a Godly dad it's never too late to let God fill in whatever knowledge gaps you might have.

Household ownership joys...and change.
I am so incredibly thankful for my home that it just really upsets me when anything goes wrong with it, if that makes any sense to anyone at all! Its because I love it just like it is and I don't want it to change...sometimes I get like that, though. Sometimes change is hard but most of the time I welcome it with arms wide open! How about you all...any thoughts on change? Why are some changes so easy, they may even go unnoticed they are so not the big deal...while other changes are so hard to come to grips with that you think you will never feel normal again?

The weather is wacky and what's permanent anyways?
Well, I guess the only thing really wacky about the weather is that the temperature difference between today and one week ago is approximately 75-85 degrees...! It was that much colder just one short week ago. It makes me think about how we think something horrible, like a cold or the flu or a broken heart, will last forever, when in reality this world and everyone and everything in it is moving so fast...what is really permanent anymore? Tatts can be removed now, scars can fade with enough vit E on them, landmarks shift or get removed, it's 70F in the middle of February and God can mend the brokest of all broken hearts...so, I guess what I'm really saying is everything changes and things will get better. But in the midst of all this constant changing I need to make sure I acknowledge and am deeply intensely aware of something or, I should say, someone permanent in my life, the one constant is The One who can do the impossible, mend my heart, bring sunshine to my darkest days and blow a clearing wind through my mind cluttered with all the day to day cares and open my eyes to the wonders and miracles He performs every moment I am alive and for eons before I was born. Miracles and wonders that will last, that are permanent, that reveal the unchanging never-ending mercy and love of our powerful Heavenly Father.

Just a thought...
It's been my experience that in this life you will meet and love many people. Some of them you will let down and some of them will let you down, but none of it will be because it is what they or you deserve. Maybe this is too public a forum for my feelings, but I just want to put it out there that if someone hurts you don't ever think you deserved it because no matter what we do we can repent and change our ways and be forgiven by God, so if God wants to forgive us then do we really deserve the pain we often dish out to one another? I just don't think so and I hope you don't either. I hope you can face this "new" year fresh and take all the pain others, and yourself, have dumped or inflicted on you and put it behind you, realizing that for the most part it probably didn't even have anything to do with you, but at the very least you didn't deserve it because pointless suffering has never been Gods will and desire for you. Now, I know we aren't all perfect, we have hurt others, but that doesn't mean we deserve to be hurt back, or as an old saying goes, "Two wrongs don't make a right." And the next time someone hurts you, try forgiving them, for one thing, and not taking it too personally. I know this isn't as light and funny as the rest of my posts but I hope no one takes it personally or feels like I am talking about them personally as I just mean it generally. Even if your name is, oh I shouldn't say, should I? ; ) Anyways, I can always delete it if ya'll hate it, huh? Course, you will have to make a comment to that effect or I won't know, will I? Hmmm....hope this helps someone somehow anyways.
