Lookee!!!

Just found this adorable picture of what a dear friend of mine would call an "Arkansauce Wedding"...
Aren't they the cutest couple? He's just carried her over the thresh hold!

Hmmm...

I just saw the saddest thing...Hallmark is making a recordable storybook now and at the end of the commercial a little boy sits in his bed at bedtime listening to his Grandpa's recorded voice reading the story to him. What makes it so sad? No, the grandpa isn't dead, he just went back to Florida or somewhere. What made it so sad to me was...where are the parents? Why is this little boy sitting in bed listening to a recorded reading instead of having a live loving parent read a bedtime story to him? Bit of a bummer of a post but it just struck me as ironic that a commercial which was probably intended to be sweet is in reality very sad.

Abandon Ship!?

I didn't realize how long it had been since I last posted! But I'm sure most of you dear friends realize how busy this time of year is and that was before I had to deal with the storm clean-up...and I ended up getting to decorate for a very special dinner we have once a year, called the Night To Be Much Observed, which I really love to do. I made some pretty neat place cards...and got some pictures today of them...please ignore the surrounding messes...it got a little crazy! I made the fancy gates on my Cricut and the smaller ones with a Martha Stewart border punch and a fleur de lis paper punch. I didn't get any pictures of the table once it was set with the place cards, favors, candles, crowns and flowers but it was really pretty and very purple, think royal purple and lilac, so my good friend Poe must be rubbing off on me more than I know!

The smaller tag was for the children at the table.

The next pictures are of some favors I made...
The ladies received favors along these lines, with an additional sparkly key pin and a sparkly crown option I didn't get pics of, and the men received heavy cast iron key paperweights. The theme was along the lines of royal Key of David vision and the gates had to do with a hymn I had stuck in my head about opening the gates of righteousness, where all the righteous enter in...and how the Key opens that gate...

Yep, it's Spring!

I don't know if they are calling this damage from a tornado or not but I personally saw a funnel on the ground, backlit by lightening since this happened about 10:30 pm last night...they were definite recordings of 94 mph winds at our airport a few miles west of me. So here are some pics for y'all of the damage I can see from my front and back door...I haven't went and done the looky lou thing around town yet.
This is my shed wrapped around the gas meters around back of my house...it was around front where you can see my pile of stuff...
My pile of stuff...doesn't look so big from the porch. Think I can clean it up from the porch?
One of my neighbors sheds got crunched as well...
Another neighbors brand new convertible is a little extra converted now...another neighbor sawed some branches off already this morning but left the biggest one on for the Park owner to take care of. And I think that may be one of my shed doors leaning against that tree, way over there...
Here's a close-up of her car. And that's all for now folks. I'm sure I'll post more later...I heard our Wal-Mart got hit pretty bad and Lowe's, which is about 2 blocks from me, has a pile of attachable cargo things piled up in their parking lot...

Is it officially Spring yet?

So the Spring cleaning is progressing, slowly but surely. However, the temperatures are rising much faster so today the AC comes on. But first it has to be cleaned, too! A little ironic I guess. In order to somewhat comfortably be able to clean the rest of the house, first the AC filter has to be cleaned. I'm just thankful we have AC though. And the money to pay the bill when it comes due! Hope everyone's Spring cleaning is going well...I'm wrapping mine up by next Friday, hopefully. But definitely no later than Monday, right? ;)
