WOYWW #170

Hmm, what's up this week? School, of course, been to the dentist for myself and the boy, next week even the dog gets to go! A few ebay scores have been trickling in, so fun. :) And I did a re-org of the craft cave, mostly the area that seemed to hulk behind me and just generally cause me to wonder, "What's in that cabinet again?" but the problem was I couldn't get to it to see inside for all the stuff in front of it which was blocking the doors. Solved it!
You'll never guess how.
Yep, took the door off. :)
So without further ado here are the pics of my desk this week. Why pics of my desk? Cause Julia says we can! Go see her to find out why and get in on the fun. :)
Here it is before the clean-up, because I remembered to get y'all a pic:
A little while later, won't say how much later because Doc Martin was distracting me on the tv...
And I finally got my curtain re-hung! Its been down for over a year and I know that because we hung my sisters wedding dress on it, which turned out to be too heavy for nails holding it in the wall! Wedding dresses are heavy, folks. :) But she got married July 3rd of last year! Anyways, this area got in on the re-org...
Above is the after(see the missing door on the right side of the pic or where it used to be?) and below is the before, at least of some of that area. It looks much tidier now, trust me. And fits my paper packs better. :) I like the packs on their sides as they are easier to get to than how I used to have them piled up.
What's this bonus pic? Well, once it got all tidy a creative urge struck me so I made a new mess! lol
Have a lovely rest of the week dears and enjoy your everyday, please? Thank you! :)

  1. OMG you made me laugh, you took the door off! that is something that I would do LOL. Your cave is awesome I love it and you started the cleaning up at 2.50 pm and finished it at 9.45 pm well that is when the photos were taken. You see super snoop me checked the clock on the wall LOL It does look so much better and where are those ebay purchases you must take a photo of your new stash. You are so lucky to have access to cheap goodies things are so expensive over the part of the big Island usually double yours. Oh and I saw my postcard too, must make another of them soon, I love postcards. Did you link to Mrs Dunnitt? I couldn't find your number.

    1. That is brilliant deducing on your part! Only the second picture you used for time reference was taken ages ago...I just scoured my computer to see if I could find a "before" picture since I forgot to take one that day...and you caught me! lol :) Plus I feel I should confess that, being a stay-at-home mum who homeschools, I'm rarely in my craft cave before 9 pm so the 9:45 was a p.m. shot but that 2:50 shot wasn't a p.m. time but an A.M. time...really! :) Sometimes I have a hard time shutting down and making myself go off to bed. It just seems like there is so much to do and so little time.

  2. forgot to add I found your number on the next post LOL and your sister got married on my sons birthday, he is now 26, yep I'm an old fart. Also working horrible hours we are into rugby and aussie rules footy finals nearing the end of the season, crazy from now on until the spring racing giddy up season starts. From now until January I am on overdrive. Off to the rugby tomorrow, then footy saturday, sunday, monday, tuesday & wednesday awards for footy so busy, busy, busy. I do love working nights though.

    Talk again soon.

  3. HOW much paper??? Loved seeing and hearing of the door being removed. What fun! Yes my desk is usually tidy - it is in my bedroom after all - but also sometimes it is a hive of messiness! Thanks for stopping by BJ#63

  4. I think it's funny you refer to it as your craft cave, lol Taking the door off = totally smart move. I like my paper stacks on their sides too although I think you out number me! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)

    1. I like to wait for Hobby Lobby to put the paper packs on sale half off and then buy a few. A few too many! lol I have some super great papers, though. Their store brand designers come up with some fab ones at times. Anyways, I call it my craft cave because I feel left out, not having a man cave and all! And the room dimensions are 7x11 so it can get cave-like at times...like when it needs tidied super bad. :) Good to "see" you this week...I better go check your workspace out now, huh? :)

  5. Let's not talk school. I am taking one class and it is consuming my life. This is just terrible. This is not what I signed on for. I asked those darn advisors to find me a class that I didn't have to do work for and still get an A. Of course they thought I was imitating our students and just laughed at me.

Anyway, love your storage solution--take the doors off! I still want to do something to my room but right now the urge is just to set it on fire. I pondered getting rid of the cat tree as the one cat too old and the others too fat and suddenly.... they all start using it. I could call 'em a bad word for that.

The transformation photo was great and I love the bonus photo! First it is messy. Then I clean it up. And now I made a new mess! That rocks! Making the mess is the best part.

    1. Some classes are ridiculous, right? In over 5 years I've only had to drop one class but it was a truly atrocious class...major assignments due every few days and piddly little ones due every other day! Beyond ridiculous! I bailed *fast*! And it was an elective! I was like, are you serious?! So, shame on your advisors! :)
I know all about that urge to set things ablaze...but you should resist because as much paper as you have that place will go up fast! lol Sometimes you just have to be in the mood to reorganize and then things will work out fabulously...just wait. It'll hit you sometime. Probably when you least expect it! lol
And then once it's all tidy you can mess it up again...hehehe ;)

  7. How wonderful!! Your area looks so fun! And YAY on getting the curtain back up, lol!

I see you have those lovely distress markers! How do you like them? I have my Copics, but I'm always curious about new things. Enjoy!

  8. Enjoyed seeing these pics of your area. Mine definitely looks more like your last one, after you had cleaned and then decided to make messes. I am having to clear a space just to stamp. Papers piled everywhere as I scurry to get these Holiday cards ready. Each day I say "tomorrow I'll clean", NAH, hasn't happened. But one of these days! :-) TFS
