WOYWW #156

It's that time again and it's also time to congratulate the lovely and wonder-tabulous Julie over at Stamping Ground on the 3rd anniversary of WOYWW! Follow the link if you are lost! :)
So here are my pics for this week:
Some rare wider angle pics...The first one is to the right of where I sit. I sit basically in front of the crafting matte on the desk. The 3 tiered thing is newish and doesn't really have a home yet but I don't get into those drawers too terribly much so its okay there, for now. Then my trash can has a lid sitting partially on it so that my baggies of already cut cardstock pieces, corralled in a container w/a handle, can be at the ready. The container for the cardstock pieces has a handy slot that my purple heat gun fits in, too. :)
So this is to the left of where I sit. Embellies galore! In the little drawers. The big drawers that sit back farther so I can sit close to my desk have more dimensional embellies, then a drawer of ribbon, and the bottom drawer is misc. crafty projects and supplies for them. I made the white boxes on top of the drawers to hold my 4 most common sizes of sticker sheets so thats whats in them.
Another rare tall shot! As you can see my paper is also right next to me and yes, there is a lot. A LOT. :)
Current project beginnings...it'll be a card someday, when it grows up...
And now it feels a little like show-n-tell, but I found this vintage Swingline medium sized stapler at a thrift store for $1.00!!! It's like in mint condition...I mean who wears out a stapler anyways?! :)
Hope everyone is having a great week. A storm front just got here so we'll see how that goes, huh?

  1. So, it's not like I'm stalking Julia's blog or anything... but it's bedtime here in the US and I was curious to see if anyone would be going on the WOYWW list after me. I thought I was going to be the last one... Lol. Since you have followed me, you get my ATC. I'm going to see if your profile has an email address to contact you through.... if not, I'll be back. *smile*

    1. I don't own a business but I do stock some of my sassy embellishments at a local florist/gift shoppe, so I guess I kinda work from home? Mostly I just love making cards that hopefully inspire, encourage or otherwise delight their receivers! :)

  7. Oh, love your craft space!! Yum. I looked at your profile to see where you live and couldn't find out. I hope whatever storm is coming to your area isn't a bad one.

I do love that stapler! Way to score at the thrift store (yep, I'm a thrifter too).

    Happy WOYWW

  8. I've worn out a vintage Swingline stapler. I miss it so! I used to have it in my office (work work not home office) and I loved it. People called it my case iron stapler. I used to joke that if I were ever attacked I could fend them off with my stapler. But alas, it truly quit working properly, one of the prongs of the staple would bend the wrong way and not go down very far so it would catch on everything or stab you. I tried different things but in the end there was no choice but for the stapler to go to the great retirement bin under the desk (AKA trash can). I would so buy another one if I could find it. I love all the different views of your desk and area. Those are some massive 3-drawer bins you have there. Do you find things in them easily or do you spend a lot of time pawing through different things in the drawer? I would get easily distracted in them I think.

    1. And, see, I felt silly asking who could wear out a stapler! lol I think that thrift shop had a larger one, mine is the middle sized one(not full-sized but decent sized), but not the largest I'm sure. If you email me your address I will go back and see if they still have it and ship it off to you, if they still have it. But it wasn't a fabulous avocado green, like mine! :)
My bigger 3-drawer units are pretty well organized so I know exactly whats in them, but I also thoroughly paw through them every once in awhile to make sure I'm not forgetting about some goodies that I don't regularly reach for. I keep the stuff I use the most at the front of the drawers, in other words, and occasionally dig through the rest, usually when I need inspired. Hope you are having a great WOYWW!

    2. Been meaning to answer... I will pass on your generous offer of a new cast iron Swingline. I'm in a new office now and most everything grows legs and walks at some point. I'd hate to have to bash the perpetrator's head in with the very stapler they swiped. I have a bright blue Bostitch stapler these days, sort of pretty, easily replaced when it goes on travels.

  10. I would have picked up that stapler, too. They just don't make them like they used to -- the older, heavier ones staple best. I too am enamored of patterned paper. Most of mine (excluding a few 6x6 and 8x8 pads that have another place to live) fits in one of those hard plastic crates and it's heavier than anything. Trying to contain the "collection" to that space, but it's very hard! Happy WOYWW from Laura #126

    1. Wow, I have to compliment you on your self-restraint! One crate of paper...I think my collection would fill 4, maybe 5...and I have even given some away! But I've been collecting and using it, too, for several years now. So that makes it perfectly acceptable, right? lol
