WOYWW #177

Hello blogland! Welcome to my newest followers...and for those who have no idea why I would show what I'm about to show, I have directions for you: Go see Julia over at the Stamping Ground and she will explain all. :) So, short and snappy, here we go...
Nice mess, huh? ;) Here is the card created, so at least something good came of it...
Well, I think it's a good card! lol Make sure you click on it so it'll get bigger and you can see all the fabulous glittering this puppy does. And, for those who noticed last week that I got one of those Inkadinkadoo stamp gear things, you may also like to know this card was made using it! The leaf pattern is a little trippy, eh? lol
Bonus: second mess, same day! And another card completed...
This time it's the one I was working on last week, with my new Fall Sizzex embossing folder, remember?
I may still ink the edges of the card base, but it is a nice clean creamy color so I may leave it be. Anyways, I better scoot off and get this posted before midnight strikes and I've missed WOYWW!
Take care and I look forward to reading your comments and visiting your desks. :)

  2. I love the first card that you did with the inkadinkadoo stamp thingy I watched someone use this baby and it looked like fun. I used to have them as a child, also the spirograph with was the swirly thing. I dont even remember what happened to it, that was another lifetime.

Now do not ink the edges of the second card it is perfect already and I think it would be too much if you know what I mean. It really is beautiful the way it is.

Yoda is doing good, he is such a handsome little man and so gentle too. His weight is really good now and he is happy and warm and safe this is the main thing right, to keep him happy and safe.

Glad you made it on the desk hop this week.

    1. Glad to be here! And I remember the spirograph, too. :) I don't know how fun it was to use the stamping gear but I did like how the card turned out...so, maybe it was more fun than it felt like at the time? lol I was just nervous about letting the base thing move out of place and mess up the pattern I was going for...but after a few different colors I figured, meh, so what if it moves and my pattern isn't perfect! I was thinking about getting the large circle part but I don't do scrapbook pages so I would never use the whole pattern that could be made, I don't think. If anyone else has this, please weigh in with your opinion! :)

  5. Love those little pumpkins popped forward on your card for some added dimension.
I am a fan of inking so I would ink the edges...but I do think it is a personal thing...some like it, some don't!!!!

    1. I love to ink the edges! But this card has quite a bit of inking in the focal piece so I was thinking leaving the edges clean makes for a good sharp contrast, you know, keeps your eyes where they should be? :)

  6. A bit trippy, yes -- but mostly awesome!

  7. Both great cards and I also think that you don't need to ink edges ( in my humble opinion ) Ann x #147

    1. Thank you for thinking so and thank you for weighing in! :)
(I'm also leaning pretty strongly towards not inking this time)

  8. What's the stamp thingy? What have I missed? It's a great card and erm, glittery, man!!!

    1. Glittery man is right! haha The stampy thingy is the Stamping Gear by Inkadinkadoo that was unopened on my desk last week. Got it opened and put to use this week though! I think it worked pretty well for making a cohesive pattern, which is the point of the thing, after all, so for that I give it two thumbs up. :) But not while using it...its all hands on deck when using it! But I think a repositionable sticky dot might help the situation...hmmm, maybe I will still do a short tutorial video for this thingy. :)

  9. Oh, how interesting to get a look at what that stamp thingamajig does. When I saw it in the store I was befuddled, but like Eliza, it did make me think of the Spirograph toy of childhood. (Yes, back in the Pleistocene Age.) The second card is yummy. You are wildly organized doing Thanksgiving cards already! Thanks for popping over to visit me. ~ Laura #155

    1. How sweet of you to think I'm so organized for getting Thanksgiving cards done already! I can't really take all the credit though as, thankfully, I don't have to do anything for that big December holiday so I can focus all my energy on Thanksgiving cards and decorations. So, in light of that, I feel like I'm running behind! lol :)

  12. Hey! A messy desk is good if something comes out of it. I have a messy desk but the only thing I got out of it is a mess! LOL! It may be picked up by tomorrow or not. One never knows what I am up to once I get home. I think mutilating pumpkins is on the agenda tonight though. Such a bummer... I'd rather be stamping.

  13. Oh forgot to say, that I loved that embossing folder so much I rushed right out and bought one myself! Love the leaf card, it is kind of trippy looking but that makes it unique and interesting.

  14. Hey, I think the card is very pretty too! Love the swirly leaves, and I liked the next card very much as well. I have the Inkadinkadoo gear set too, not used it yet. Been watching some good videos on the how-to's. I think you used it very effectively with the leaves. TFS.
