Hey, lookit me! Getting back in on the WOYWW action, finally! Thanks Julia for hostessing. Not much happening on my workspace, though...but here are the pics:
General mayhem, huh? Yah. I've no real excuse, I just haven't felt like I've had time to get any crafting done, ya know? I'm still not unpacked from our recent trip, for one thing. And schoolwork has been piling up. But I did get this far on a card:
This is one of my new Sizzix embossing folders and I'm looking forward to making some Thanksgiving cards with it. I plan to embellish it some more and get some real color onto the leaves, then use it as the focal piece on a card front. Anyways, thanks for the read and any comments...hope everyone has a lovely week. :)
Your desk looks so tidy and organised! I love that new embossing folder you have too. Happy WOYWW, Anne x #41
ReplyDeleteThanks Anne! Its a super fab folder, huh? Well, that seems to be the consensus, at least. :) I know I knew I had to have it when I saw it...I know that about a lot of things I see, though! lol
DeleteThat folder does look cool- Its such a shame that Halloween isn't done so much over here,Have a great Wednesday, Hugs Shaz #96
ReplyDeleteThe folder is great, huh? I'm actually only going to use it for Thanksgiving, since I don't keep Halloween personally. Hope you're having a great day, too! :)
DeleteSorry I should be number 1 commenting on here but it doesn't happen with me. Love the neat and tidy desk, study does come first and it is so good to have you back you have been missed.
ReplyDeleteHugs Eliza
Thanks Eliza! I've missed you and everyone else, too. :) Can't believe you guys think my desk is tidy this week! It's driving me crazy! I haven't found a place for all my new haul yet so its just sitting round in my way. First world troubles, huh? :)
DeleteNice tidy desk there - I like the embossing folder - very effective. Thanks for sharing - Sunshine Girl no. 57
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome! Thanks for leaving a comment. :)
DeleteYour card looks quite interesting! Well organized space too.. Sandi #32
ReplyDeleteThanks, but its pretty far from being a card just yet! Someday, though...lol :)
DeleteIt looks pretty neat and non-mayhemish to me! I love how you have your Distress Inks labeled.
ReplyDeleteHappy Woyww,
Sandy #23
Sandy your link isn't working for me! :(
DeleteBut thanks for thinking it doesn't look too mayhemish. lol :) The distress ink labeling is pretty simple, just sticker paper cut in strips, inked and slapped on.
It needs no excuse...life gets in the way and hey, at least it's a tidy desk waiting for you to get going on when you can...mine gets used to dump stiff on if I don't use it!!
ReplyDeleteBefore I had a craft cave that's what happened to my desk! lol Thanks for making it by my desk and leaving a comment you Super Woman you! :)
Deletefab card and enjoying your tidy desk
ReplyDeletehave a fab woyww
kay #53
Thanks, though its a ways from being a card yet. And tidy desk? lol :)
DeleteI love that folder - please me tell what it is called ! I have a soft spot for pumpkins !! and what you have done looks lovely ! Ali #48
ReplyDeleteAli, I got it at Hobby Lobby and it's made by Sizzix, simply called the Fall set. You can find it online at places like scrapbook.com, not that I am affiliated with them or anything. If you don't have a Hobby Lobby nearby you can order it online at hobbylobby.com and use the 40% off coupon on it. Hope this helps! :)
DeleteYour work area looks so neat and tidy Deeyll :o) mine is a mess!!! way to embarassed to show pics of it...LOL!
ReplyDeleteI hope you show us the finished card, you make such nice things. Have a nice evening! hugs Jennifer
Oh Jennifer! You would be surprised how many people would love to see your disaster. lol :) In fact, if you click the link in my post, you will find more than 100 other crafters who love to peek at messy craft spaces! Hope you'll join in sometime, it really is fun. And thanks for the sweet comment, you are very encouraging dear! :)
DeleteOoh, one of those new stamping gear thingamajigs -- you'll have to let us know how you get on with it!
ReplyDeleteYa, I can't wait to have some real time to play with it! I'll have samples whenever I get to play, hope you come back and see them. :)
DeleteStickles rock, huh? :) I'm hoping to work on the card some more this week so hopefully by next week I can post a completed card. lol Laughing at myself, being so optimistic that the card will be completed in a week!
ReplyDeleteOhh that looks like a lovely embossing folder. I am sure you will make some great projects . Thanks for stopping by my blog.
ReplyDeleteSandra @93
mayhem, no, it looks like you are ready to get to work! Happy WOYWW Lindsay #7
ReplyDeleteI like your card-in-progress -- that embossing folder is really cool. It sets the whole scene for you and then you can play. Happy WOYWW from Laura #153
ReplyDeleteI don't know what everyone is going on-and-on about your desk for when that card looks awesome so far! Maybe it's because I love the Fall and Thanksgiving!!
ReplyDeleteProbably! We're getting excited for some good turkey eating, aren't we?! :) But mostly they are going on-and-on because that's the point of WOYWW...you get to see everyone's desktop, the good, the bad, and the truly disastrous! And don't you know mine usually falls into that last category? lol :) So, it wasn't too bad this week, actually. You should check out some of my other posts labeled WOYWW...heehe...but, since you've seen the whole of the room, just seeing the desktop may not do much for you! lol
DeleteI was admiring that embossing folder the other day. I didn't get it because although I like the look of cards made with embossing folders when I actually make on myself it feels naked. So I'll just admire yours instead. Look at all that yummy glitter glue off to the side!
ReplyDeleteBummer about your test score. My test was open book so in theory you should get everything right, right? We'll see. It took a long time to hunt down all those answers. This is when being a fast reader is a curse. It means less reading comprehension in the long run.
Thanks for your kind kitty words and yes, cancer still sucks!
That is so weird! I mean about your reading comprehension...it's supposed to improve when you speed read, unless you are just skipping over the text and considering that speed reading??? *shakes finger at the naughty girl* lol
DeleteAnyways, I love open book tests. I can use the back of the book like no other! I am so thankful for the subject and name indices. :)
You're welcome and yes, cancer still sucks! (Hugs)
belated happy woyww! love your organization/storage! that's one of my all time fave folders! i do something with it every year! have creative weekend! nan 117
ReplyDeleteDesk looks lovely - decks cleared for action! And that card is already looking stunning - I love the embossing on it, and the subtle colour palette you're using. Belated happy WOYWW!

I spy some LYB stamp words that I want! You look like you have a lot of new things to play with on that desk lucky you! I am going searching for those stamps now,see ya! Tamika #124
ReplyDeleteYes, you do spy new stamps! The local Hobby Lobby got some new stuff in a few weeks ago at just the perfect time. A dear dear lady I know had given me a generous gift card and so you see some of my new toys she helped me get! I haven't gotten to play with most of it yet, can't seem to find the time! Now, if only there was a gift certificate for more time. lol :)
DeleteIt's crazy before I read your response I got an sale email from them(HL)and looked under stamps and saw them! Now I am building a shopping cart! Thanks
DeleteHi hun and thanks so much for joining me. I'll be keeping a look out for you on Wednesday. With half term approaching I really hope you get the chance to let the creative juices flow. Hugs, Buttons x
ReplyDeletelooking beautiful
ReplyDeleteLove what you did with this emboss folder. It's one I have, and you gave me a great idea for using it. Hope things slow down a bit for you, and thanks for taking the time to share this really pretty card. Your desk looked way too neat, though!
