So I've been terribly busy with final exams, and projects which could
have been started months ago but why, when you can wait until the last
48 hours before they are due? I *know* I am not alone in this! lol :)
But, off and on, I did manage to get a few cards completed, including my
Mother's Day one, so I feel way ahead of things there. I usually wait
until the night before to make it! :) Well, you are here to see the
desk, since it's WOYWW, thanks to the lovely and fabulous Julia over at Stamping Ground, so here you go:
Actually, the top picture was last weeks picture, since I planned to join, took the picture and then got too busy to join! Here is this week's picture though, not much changed:
It's a little cleaner and my other new twine has come in. I found a good deal on ebay for the 240 yd spools in just the right softer colors of pink and purple twine...look the pink got used already even!
This is one of the blanks/bases from a few weeks back. The softer pink twine is one of the things I was waiting for to finish it. That and inspiration to strike! :) Here's a close-up of the mustache's along the bottom:
Here is an anniversary card for this weekend...one of two I completed, the next follows this one:
And finally is proof that I got my Mother's Day card finished, no worries about posting it since my mom doesn't check my blog. She has one of those ancient limited data plans for internet...who can even function with those?! We couldn't possibly! lol :)
I think it's prettier in reality, the upper left flower really does look like it belongs! lol And inside the envelope or pocket is the stamped image of 4 kids and their mom, I think its a stamp from TH? Looks old timey? Anyways, its a joke for my mom because there are 4 of us kids and she said all she wanted for Mothers Day was a picture of us kids all together, which didn't happen of course! So when I saw that stamp with the four kids and mom I knew it would make a perfect joke out of us not getting our picture made. I hope it makes her laugh anyways! And I hope you all have a wonderful WOYWW and rest of your week and a fabulous weekend, whatever your plans, and until next time here is a big hug and a smile from me to you! :)

WOYWW #186 A bit late...
Well, I just completely lost track of time this last week and the stores being closed on Tuesday made me feel like it was Sunday so Wednesday felt like Monday which means today should still only be Tuesday! Hey. That means I'm actually early for WOYWW! In "Deeyll" time. ;) What's WOYWW? Ask dear Julia, here!
So anyways I've been working on a super fun project, though it's not turning out as smashingly as the one I was inspired by, here. See how clever I'm being this week? I remembered who inspired me! Actually I just still have her blog opened up on another tab, otherwise I would be telling y'all someone inspired me but not remembering who! lol I don't know that lady personally but WOW am I impressed with her stuff! Next I want to make a carousel, but first I tried the wagon thingy...which is not finished but here's what I've got so far:
The whole thing is up on ribbon spools right now and until I get the stairs put in, they seem to help support its weight, but this is the main display side. Next is the end, where I will put the little set of stairs once I get them finished...
What do you guys think of the fence? It's metal and rusty looking, which is kinda great, but I'm wondering if I should do a shabby white paint job on it? Well, here is a close-up of the "entry" end...
And here is a close-up of the display side, oh I think I wanted you guys to be able to see the mini trellis like thing I wrapped around the front door with its tulle and flower vine ribbon on it...or just the details? IDK
Thanks for stopping by and seeing what I've been up to this week and have a fabulous weekend! :)

WOYWW #185
Not much to see this week...I tidied! Julia inspired me and if you don't know what I'm talking about go check her out over at Stamping Ground. :)
Yes, that's fairly tidy for me. ;) Next is a card I'm still working on...
Next are a few pictures of a card I finished this last week...
I just adore the open shirt, lacy look...totally copied from somewhere else on the web...I suspect LilyBean's Paperie since I haven't been able to see enough of her stuff lately(she does the sweetest shabby stuff!)...but then again, maybe it was Gabrielle from Such a Pretty Mess...her stuff is just gorgeous! I have her linked on my sidebar in the blogs I love or whatever I've called it section. :)
It says, I *heart* U. :)
Next one was just fun and I don't think I copied it...
This is the other thing I did this last week...used my distress stains to dye these little trios of roses...sweet, huh? I got them at Hobby Lobby in the trim section, where you have to pay by the yard, and then just cut several rows up and dyed them.
I hope you all have a lovely spectacular and fantabulously crafty week! :)

WOYWW #184
So, what have I been up to this week? Well, for those who are here since it's Wednesday, thanks to the fabulous Julia at Stamping Ground, you'll be wanting to see the workspace, huh?
I've made a right old mess, eh? I've also been watching Shakespeare soooo...a bad English accent is running the commentary in my head right now. :) But here is the project I've been working on, the one I alluded to last week and for which most of the mess can be blamed upon...
It's not finished, exactly, yet. But I think its close. I love the colors and shabbiness but its actually not a style I feel that I am able to do very well at...what do you all think of it? Can you tell me what it's missing?
Anyways, here is another card I made this week...The 5 pennants part is copied from a design I saw elsewhere but the rest is pretty much all me. Except of course that putting doilies on cards wasn't my idea originally, either...well, I still *actually* made it so that counts for something, right? :)
It's really pretty cheerful, huh? Well, I hope your week is as bright and cheery as this card and as yummy as the chocolate cake I had last week. And this week. ;)

It's WOYWW Time! #149
So here are pictures of my paper crafting desk because it's What's on your workdesk? Wednesday again.
General view of my desk while I was working on the first card, you see in the next pic, and some other tags that aren't pictured, but one that is...
Here is the one card, not finished though...I want something down the middle...thinking I like the crocheted ribbon but I'm not married to it yet...
Here is the tag I made after popping over to Tim Holtz's blog and receiving his inspiration...I don't think its done yet, either...I need more practice with his techniques...
Next is the card I was working on this evening and...
Managed to make my desk even messier!
But I changed up the ribbon rod, right above my paper desk...I have this great roll of burlap and hempy like twine that I managed to get up there and now I think I'll use them more, plus I like how they look. And you get a bonus side peek at my shelves of fabrics that I didn't have room for in the living room sewing cabinet. Yah. I haven't even shown y'all pictures of that yet! Maybe next week...
Until then have a good one and if you're curious what other desks look like make sure you pop by the Stamping Ground and check 'em out!

Some new cards I made this week...
Happily crafted what I hope are some lovely cards, some I can't show you just yet because some of my dear readers will be receiving some of them, but others I can share already so here you go:
This is the cutest vintage styled card, it came together fairly quickly and I heart it! Someday I'll send it out...
This one is for a lady to give her brother-in-law that's just like a brother...if that makes any sense... : )
Random card shaped like a giant gift tag...with glitter!!!
I made this one a long time ago but I don't think I ever posted a picture of it so...its better coordinated than it appears, though...and glittery!
I think the next one is just funny...if you get it, that is. It was a real quote from a website of quotes, only I can't remember now who said it. Probably because I think they can't have been serious...
I know it doesn't seem like much but it takes me at least an hour to make a simple card. If it has handmade embellishments, like rosette's or cut-out pop-ups or pop-out text/pictures or glitter or embossing or inking, then it takes at least 3 hours to plan, make and assemble all the parts, not counting drying time for any individual pieces that need drying between working stages, which is why I'm usually working on several cards at a time. But I really love doing this creative stuff, no matter how long it takes which it probably takes so long because I'm a perfectionist and I tend to fuss over little details that probably no one else ever even notices, but I do! : ) I especially love it when someone has a special request for a card they would like to give someone else. And on that note I want to say a big *THANK YOU* to my sister, Shandy, for all her special requests that I have hopefully, she hasn't seen them yet, fulfilled satisfactorily!
Hope everyone has a lovely evening!

A few new cards and such...
I updated my Decor and More page with some more pics of my craft room and...
Here's what I've been working on the last few weeks, 3 special requests from my bestest friend and the mock-ups for a special request from my dearest lovely Sis...
The first card is a thinking of you kind for someone she knows. The next one, really colorful, is a 65th wedding anniversary card for her grandparents.
The next one is for her to give to her husband for their 17th wedding anniversary.
This next card has very special artwork created by a very special dear person...my son! My 13 yr old created the drawing, inside the frame. Using watercolor pencils, I think?
The next two cards, one in blue and one in pink, are for my sister's special request. The pictures don't show the true blue very well but you get the idea...
This last one of both of them has been color corrected and shows their color a little better.
This is a thinking of you card...well, I guess that was kinda obvious... :)
But check out this rosette! It's like an inch tall...and 3.5 wide.
Here is the card I'm thinking of using it on...with the saying, "Rise Above It"
Here is a shabby chic framed 3-d piece of eye candy...especially yummy for butterfly fans...
Look at the tag with the cute little pink ribbon tie! And the sparkle on the little flower...adorable, right?
What would a creation by QL be without a crown?!? A pink crown of course!
Yes, sometimes I really think I nailed it...and I don't mind sharing my enthusiasm for one of my creations or two... :)
Here is another one I'm still working on but its another piece of shabby chic 3-d...let's call it art shall we?
This lovely lady has the most poignant haunting look on her face. You just really fall for her...
So that's a close up of the part I'm still working on...how to make it appear neat from the side view? I need to cover the triangular gap caused by making the floor she is standing on pop out...plus I'm still thinking about embossing or glittering part of the saying...and wondering if the chandelier needs blinged out...
So, what do y'all think? I think the lady graphic is from itkupulli....she sells lots of graphic sheets that are so super for all kinds of projects. I have a link to her blog somewhere on the right side of this blog, I think in my blog roll maybe?
