I love dying ribbon and getting all inky/stained from doing so, then I scrub up with the TH Scrubbie! That thing is fab! Takes the ink, stain and paint right off even StazOn! And leaves the skin. :) I highly recommend it. Happy WOYWW! LOL I am sure your grandparents are going to love it regardless. By the way you are one tallented person yourself never under estimate your abilities.

Hugs Eliza
Who is not participating this week in the desk show and tell, work got in the way and the end of the month billing.Elizahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06921884729737495356noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8873214914151554015.post-60961749424807964592013-02-28T11:38:19.638-06:002013-02-28T11:38:19.638-06:00Thanks for thinking so but really it's easier ...Thanks for thinking so but really it's easier than you might think, but very very messy, as Laura mentions below! lol I did some more, okay a lot more, last night and my hands will probably be stained for two days or so...but really it's worth it. :) For the ones pictures I just put them in baggies with water and drops of distress re-inker and squished then laid them out to dry. I did some last night using the distress stains in bottles and those I just smoosh directly onto the rose trim and then let dry. It's fun to experiment with the colors and I'm sure you could do it too. :)Queen Lightwellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12323813779305135126noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8873214914151554015.post-68670264486915433842013-02-28T08:31:23.590-06:002013-02-28T08:31:23.590-06:00Love dyeing things to match but I make sooo much m...Love dyeing things to match but I make sooo much mess in the process!!
Happy WOYWW
:)
Laura
110Laurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06432767678608136029noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8873214914151554015.post-5737671714454646632013-02-28T07:56:50.115-06:002013-02-28T07:56:50.115-06:00You are so ambitious coloring your own roses. They start off white and 3 to a row with the columns being however many yards you purchase. Then I just separate them(cut them apart, in other words) by column or by row, whichever I think I'll end up wanting eventually. They cut apart really well and seem to hold up, at least so far through the dying process, which I am not gentle about so...make sure to take a coupon, though, because they aren't cheap! lol But I think in comparison(to other products like TH or Bo Bunny) they are the best deal. At least in my little spot of the woods. :)Queen Lightwellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12323813779305135126noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8873214914151554015.post-87260015632703410202013-02-27T18:55:40.940-06:002013-02-27T18:55:40.940-06:00Thank you April! :) I did love it when I finished ...Thank you April! :) I did love it when I finished altering it, trust me if you had seen it before...wow, it was a hideous card...makes me wonder why I ever bought it in the first place! lol I must have had plans even then to modify it extensively! Where do you find the ribbon...Love the dyed roses. Where do you find the ribbon? I bought Tim Holtz but it shredded so bad I only use it for "tattered" items. I think I bought some from Stampin' Up! but it is bigger. Went to Hobby Lobby yesterday and they had some roses left from Valentines on sale so I bought them...they are about 1/2" on stems. We dodged the bullet again yesterday and ended up with just a little rain and no snow...YAY! Have a great week and stay warm!
